Combat system.
Good looking game and so far well done.
However I have some questions about the game's combat mechanics.
I'm on level 2 and obviously the party is fairly weak.

But we have run into a hurdle in that the large bunch of bandits seem impossible to beat. They don't seem to follow the combat rules that the rest of us are required to do. First off it is a difficult fight when they out number you and are better armed and fight better to start with. But its the ability to move to contact one of your characters, strike at them, then move away accross the board to then strike at another character with out penalty or so it seems. They seem to use a lot more AP's than we have, they also move out of contact with one of your characters without penalty into yet another character without penalty. Most other games that use the turn based combat would allow the friendly character to have a free strike at the enemy when they moved out of contact with that character. Also there doesn't appear to be any Zone of control when passing through another character. This then allows the Computer characters to have a massive advantage over the player I believe. Was this how the rules were envissioned or have I missed something?

Is that better?

Also surely a archer in contact with a fighter about to slay them should be forced to fight the fighter not target another character?

I did go back and play some more of the game and noticed that each bandits had up to double the AP's of members of our small party. Seems to make it pretty much a matter of chance in most melee's.

Hi Neil. The best tip I can give you on this stage is to try to slow your enemies down. Push or break the barrels and it should spill a substance on the floor that slows the enemies’ progress. Keep your allies back and don’t forget to make use of overwatch to play defensively. Good luck!

I don't like absence of ZOC either. However I don't remember such problems on level 2. Are all of your characters heavily wounded? In that case they have just a few APs. Normally my chars have 6-10 APs. The same as enemies.

Yes they were at the time. It wasn't clear how to get health back at that stage. I still think that you should get better health back when camping especially considerring the amount of attacks by others when camping.
I don't understand how you increase the AP's of characters.
I also didn't understand how you used Willpower or Mindpower (?) and these help.
Having another attempt at getting level 2 off to a start!

Need to say that even if a character has full health he still can be considered "heavily wounded". Check the state on his icon.

You cannot recover him by healing (though not sure if this is a bug or designed this way). The only way seems is to rest at Inn or at Camp.

6-10 is the default AP value for my characters. 6 for knight (he could have penalty -1 or -2 for one of his items). 10 is for Rogue. They seem having less when "heavily wounded", meaning were "killed" on any earlier missions.

Willpower is used by the button left of Skills icons. You can't use it everytime, but it is useful in many cases, as it gives AP, Attack and Defense for a turn.
