I got 12 but idled a lot...
How long the game takes to beat is a question we get a lot. The average length is 12 hours, but I recently checked www.howlongtobeat.com and it says around 14 hours.
If any of you are willing to, it would be awesome to have your stats in there so other players can check the page and answer this same question: https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=59984
Are there plans for an expansion?
Not at the moment. We're focused on taking Sword Legacy to consoles. We'll definitely announce if an expansion is in the works, though. Still, this week's the game's on sale at 50% off, so this might help you make up your mind :)
Most of the maps in this are relatively small (compared to say, an XCOM type game) and "hand crafted." Maybe if they'd added a few optional side quest maps, it might've tacked on some extra hours, but I can't say if that would've improved the game.
imho gamers obsess way too much about "how many hours can I get out of this?," and they don't ask enough about "Will I enjoy and have fun during my time spent in the game?" I've played my share of massive "time sink" games that were utlimately a tedious chore to play.
I got about 11 hours or so in Sword Legacy Omen, and had some fun but also found a few maps extremely exasperating, and I eventually moved on to other things. If they'd had budget for a little more voice acting of characters (and I don't mean hollering 'oof!' and 'argh!'), I think it would've made the game much more immersive. I'll stop, guess I'm wandering off topic. :)
Wouldn't be better to first fix all bugs of all kind but espacially the one which prevent anyone to prgoress in the game ?
I really like your game but I stopped counting how many times I had to restart many missions because a dailog sequence froze, probably because a script never started.
Just now, last fight against Gorloi, he's almost dead, Ygraine scream and ... nothing ... it's stucked.
Need to restart the fight ..... again ... it's the 4th times it froze at the same moment. ...
For me the time a RPG takes shows more how deep the systems are rather then a arbitrary need for long games. What i like the most with RPGs is deep system that i can spend loads of time to try break etc.
You're absolutely correct. When I say we're taking the game to consoles, it means we'll fix the existing known bugs. I believe it only makes sense to port the game from PC to consoles if the game is working properly on all platforms.
I understand your frustration and lament you've run into these issues. We want to fix everything that's break the immersion and getting in the way of the player experience. Please reach out to me if there's anything else I can do.
Thank you so much for your feedback! Rest assured, we also wanted voice acting for the whole game (not just the narrator) and side missions based on the stories of each party character.
Due to budgetary constraints, we released the game focused on the main campaign, but you are correct in saying it would add to the game's length.
Lastly, are there any particular levels you would like to mention that you felt were exasperating?
