Report a translation problem
On the voice overs - I played the game in both Russian and English and loved both, but the Russian texts are sometimes translated directly, which in some cases doesn't make much sense. For example, there is an expression "No way, Jose". The name Jose in this is used only because it rhymes with "no way", thus it sounds fun. This was translated to Russian word-for-word as "Ни за что, Хосе". It clearly doesn't rhyme and never have I heard anyone say that in Russian. It would have been better to approach this (and a few other) translation more creatively. In this specific case, "ну нетушки" would have sounded better and more appropriate.
Also, I am not fanatical about achievements (anymore), but the game has them, so it would have been a good idea to throw in a few more. Now, there are only a few non-missable ones. Not even all the chapters/preludes/interludes have one - for instance, there are two interludes, but the achievement for only one of them.
It would be awesome to have some missable achievements, the game has enough material for them, for example for:
- Completing the game without using the highlight feature
- Examining some non-plot specific object
- Trying to combine some items in a weird way
+1 for the fresh fruit
+1 for the gate password -- that's how you do dialog puzzles!
The only letdown was the end of the third chapter:
how to get a cookie; then which cookie to choose; then what to do with the blue ghost (I did read the book, but the hand action always says "Grab", so that was confusing), then how to get a black rat and a seahorse -- maybe each one not very difficult on its own, but with them coming in succession, it was annoying to immediately get stuck again after every step.
Exactly - why would a developer add achievements that don't work?? Are they trying to get a ton of bad reviews??
Devs, you should not send copys to the curators if you don't want them to talk about your game. 8 months passed and the game still install a blank register.
Cat mode is just... beyond annoying. My dog and my new kitten seem to agree. Both bristled up and got a tad upset by the noises coming out of my speakers. Not the greatest idea.
Typos galore. "Wimp" achievement- "Use the Hint button for a fist time? Fist? Please, use Bing translator, not Google?
I enjoyed the game well enough the first time I played it. Not enjoying the second playthrough very much. A tad bored, since I already know the whole story and progression.
