How to i invert a mask?
When i make a mask removes everything but the selected area, how can i invert that to only remove the selected parts? (sorry for the dumb question i couldn't find an answer anywhere else)

When you make a mask, you see can see all the different settings like mask, position, path and workspace at the left side right?

Headover to path, and put 'Mode' on negative.

I don't remember what i did back then but last few times i had to invert a mask i just did it like the guy here said. You go to the mask settings on the left and change it to inverted (might have a different name i cant quite remember it)

I tried pressing mode under path like the previous comments mentioned, but it's not allowing me to undisable or change the setting.

I think you right click the video/picture, click on properties, and then choose disable sample. Then you should be able to change the settings from disabled to positive or negative.

Haven't tested this but it could be that you selected one of the nodes/markers on the path rather than the entire path itself. If memory serves correctly, you apply the Positive/Negative aspect to the entire path, rather than any one point or segment of it. Hope that helps. Just remember the distinction between the path, segments, and points in the masking tool.

EDIT: be careful to use the correct key combination when clicking on the path or its points. It could be that you need to control-click, or shift-click, or click regularly... It depends on which "hand tool" you are using within the masking menu, I believe. If you click on it without the right combination, you might mess up your paths by making them all curvy (don't recall the term for it). Anyways, this is old knowledge derived predominately from use of older versions, but I hope it serves you somehow.
