Guess I won't be touching it then. No single player campain is a deal breaker for me. We don't get good space combat games very often, and there hasn't been a good single player one in a long time. This is VERY dissapointing. A single player focused sequel/spinoff would be an instant buy for me.

Maybe you guys should seriously consider it in a future expansion
There arent many good space games like this one with a singlplayer campaign ; many people are screaming for it so who knows in the next round of your brainstorm session you could throw it in the group and talk about singleplayer possibilties ?
