What do you mean not updating, the game is done.
As in everything they wanted and planned was added to the game.

Why do people not seem to know the difference between finished/done and abandoned/giving up nowadays?

The lead dev/programmer Oskar Stålberg struck out on his own in 2021 with his casual town-builder game Townscaper, which was quite successful.

Judging from his Tweets he's been quite happy being a new dad, focusing on Townscaper and moving on. I don't get impression Raw Fury has expressed any interest in doing anything further with the game, aside from perhaps bug fixes.

I wish the game were successful enough to spawn some clones like say Darkest Dungeon, Vampire: Survivors et al have, but Bad North remains very much its own thing. :)
