I love TxK and so far I'm liking 4000, but I hope they'll address some issues in the near future.
For $20 you really can't go wrong if you like the genre and worst case, get it refunded.
T4000 does feel a bit more challenging than TxK, also.
I bought it on both PC & PS4. On the PS4 one I had cleared one of the rings bonus stages- same music as T2000, so I'm sure the path bonus stage with the reggae should be there (it is in TxK, only with different BGM). If you see both kinds of bonus stage in one game, you can get the Both Worlds achievement.
Knowing the game speed is tied to the refresh rate, I made sure to use RivaTuner Statistics Server to cap it at 60 FPS. Real important with variable refresh monitors that have a high maximum like 144.
