spinner support ...do you have a spinner?! ...when, which one?

@shadow_sv650
Thanks for this thread. Typhoon 2001 works on my pc. I find it enjoyable and it has mouse/spinner support. Please try to make proper sentences though, English is not my native language and I have a hard time making sense of your jibberish.

I built a home made spinner using a Ultimarc Spintrak USB, An I-PAC 2 controller board, And a I-PAC Xbox 360-PS3-Xinput Adaptor, Plus some Classic Pushbuttons from Happ Controls.

It works perfectly with Typhoon 2001 because it HAS mouse support unlike Tempest 4000 I'm sorry to say...

BTW I understood you just fine @shadow_sv650...

i think a bit more about the function of a spinner and have to realize that even if the os detects it as a directx input (xbox controller like) the (re-)mapping tools will (maybe) not do the job
(spinner -> signal of steps (+/-and interval) versus left or right);
wish i could do some testing on my own.

my thoughts in past was: i should be possible to remap the signals from a spinner to a directx input.
but how do you controll the bonusstages or warps?

minor hint: i remember a video from the devs playing tempest4000 with a spinner.
maybee it would be the easiest way to get in touch with the dev directly.
and now after the long awaited patch is deployed there is a chance for native support of a spinner/mouse (AND a 2nd controller for the bonusstages).
greetings

You can map your mouse+spinner to both left stick x-axis and y-axis using vJoy and UCR (see Spinner Support thread). Then you can use your spinner for the regular levels and your mouse for the bonus levels. You can also use your keyboard for the bonus levels, might be easier.

Edit:
Yes, a second controller for the bonus stages is probably better.

Unless your running windows 7 64 bit ! lol

I still haven't found a way to install vjoy properly yet, So close yet so far away.... :^(
For right now Typhoon 2001 is my fav version of Tempest not because it's free but because it has great spinner support and looks great to !
I tried Tsunami 2010 and it was just the worst Tempest EVER !
Curiousity got the better of me and I gave Tsunami 2010 a spin. I do see some sfx that are promising but the game itself is bad and boring. I'm going to assume its developer is not a gamer.
Ya it's really bad ain't it, It's just a mess...

In Typhoon 2001 can you lean the claw to shoot down the web next to you or reach over to shoot baddies on top of the web like you can in Tempest 4000
I was browsing Typhoon 2001's website copy via WebArchive and noticed that there was a level editor. I wonder if anyone made a custom levels as result.
I did make a rough port of T4K's levels over to 2001, but there's no level morphing like in T4K. Not sure how to send it here though.
