Preparing to fight

Hi, I bought this game at GOG, I'm only 3h into it and have a question - can I change professions/uniforms for few citizens at once? Because I want them wear normal uniforms when working and quickly change them to meele/ranged weapons when there is bandit raid. I read Steam guide (only combat chapter) and didn't find answer.
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, I've never really played any colony sims like this before. I watched few Youtube guides, but there are still maaany things I don't understand. Any tips are appreciated.

Right now there is no quick-swap for the uniforms, but this is something I want to add.
