Odd Realm

Odd Realm

Bug - Beta and Current: Endless mod loading screen.
Tested on Beta-Public Test Branch and on the Current release.
Endless loading and clicking on the OK button gives visual+audio feedback but does nothing beyond it.
There's no savegame since this screen precedes the main menu.

Edit: The game runs when the mods are ticked off in both versions.

In my experience with other mods and games, sometimes a version number is the only thing that prevents a mod from running while the mod itself is compatible with the actual game files.
IDK if this is aligning with your design ideas but could you add a check box\dialog box that would ask if we want to run mods with version mismatch?
Alternatively - If you could add the old versions under the Beta steam page that'd be great and would save us mod mismatch headache and it wouldn't require any waste of development time on the subject if you're unwilling to invest it right now.

Thank you for your efforts to develop this great game and for your loyalty as a developer towards us! <3

Thank you so much for showing me this issue! I'll see if I can get a fix in for the next patch. As well, I'll try and get some better UI options in there.

Cheers!

Hey!

I uploaded a change to the beta so the game should at least load with out-of-date mod. But you'll see an error popup if it encounters an issue. I didn't add a checkbox or anything because the toggle for each mod is essentially that.

You have a point there, thanks Sleipnir!
I guess I'll pause on Stonehearth and put some time in Odd Realm this weekend. :)
The menu kinda works but when I've tried to load mods an error dialog box came up.

Yep, that makes sense. The modder will need to update their mod for the new version. Lots of things can change in the data, so it's pretty easy for the mods to need updating. That pop-up is just there to let you know which ones didn't load correctly.
Okay, so it's a definite issue with the mods rather than with the UI.
Thanks again.
