What to do if there's no Void Crystal?

Started Ancient on a plain map with 1 Void Crystal in inventory. Scaned the map and found no void crystal . Since Transmutation Chamber needed 2 crystals for the props to function, I can't convert anything to shard/crystals.

In this case what do you do? Do you keep digging with what you start with until you find a few more crystals?

just dig down in a stairs type of fashion and you will find a lot of them specially near the bottom.

its kind of rare to get them through merchants tho... the same with books related to unlocking stuff like arcana or anything, maybe if we had merchants focused on a specific type of product? weapons trader, produce and seeds trader, occult and magical items trader. cause right now with the amount of hours I have I think ive only seen 1 book of healing and never seen a void crystal in the merchant menu.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure on the conditions but it seems a plain, non-forest, map has high chance of not spawning any crystal on the surface in which case I really have to focus on digging down to lvl 15 or so. (devs hinted 1-15 are most common for Void crystal). Only need 1 extra and the transmutation is good to go.

Btw if you start with easy you get 2 crystals from the get go. I prefer to start normal for no particular reason which only gives you 1.
