Trees: Am i doing it wrong?

So i got the farming down, the more experienced the farmers are and the better tools they get, they seem to be better and getting extra seeds and growing the farm, my wheat fields are amazing.

But trees? I had my logger train up to level 5 by helping dig/build, gave him an iron choppah and only then started to chop down and replant trees.

And yet, my trees were cut down by ~30% each time i replanted them. What am i missing?

Hmm, I'm not sure I understand. Your trees were cut down by 30%? Do you mean the time it took to cut them down was reduced by 30%? Or their growth time was reduced by 30%? Sorry for my confusion.

I mean, that with each harvest i had less and less seeds to replant, the woodsman had 14 logging with all the bonuses too.

I did some more testing.
Start:
61 tree seeds
Forester with 12 points in logging.

Harvest and seeds:
1:
61 trees harvested, 48 seeds gathered.
2:
logging: 13(levelup)
48 trees harvested, 51 seeds gathered.
3:
51 trees harvested, 39 seeds gathered.
4:
39 trees harvested, 35 seeds gathered.
5:
35 trees harvested, 30 seeds gathered
6:
30 trees harvested, 33 seeds gathered
7:
33 trees harvested, 25 seeds gathered
8:
25 trees harvested, 22 seeds gathered

After that, my logger died from old age, so the end.

lol. Well, it does also depend on the size of the tree. Bigger trees will just drop more items.

Apparently this issue does not exist anymore, after starting a new playthrough, i have no problems getting enough seeds for replanting.
Perhaps it was something pre-patch?
