Just Cause 1 under Windows 10 solution

many cant start just cause 1 at windows 10 devices, so do i, but now o found the solution.
go to your justcause files:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Just Cause

take the "Steam.dll" file from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
and copy paste it into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Just Cause
now start the JustCause.exe in windows xp mode.

now it should run on windws 10, hoppefully i could helped you :D

thx for the tip. i will try this and see if i can get JC to let me run the game at the higher resolution with this (1600x1200). as it is i can only run jc at 1024x768

DRAT! resolution still wont go above 1024x768

Regardless your native language I must say in absolution, Thank you very much. This helped me out because I was getting an error for everything telling me that it couldn't find Steam. Thanks again.

Yeah. It's an older game. I think the best resolution you're going to get out of it is like 1280x1024. That makes things on the game look super funky on my end so I'm just going bare with the 1024x768 because I think that's as good as it's going to get there mate.

running windows 10 64bit and runs fine ... also theres a 1080p fix which needs to be put in lauch options .... no compatibility fix or anything ... great game .. maybe graphics are dated but still good fun

this worked - just palce Steam.dll into just cause folder it worked. :)

Well, i have done the above and the game starts, BUT still crashed at loading screen any fixes out there? (I'm using Win 10 x64)

i just bought jc1 and launched into the setup and configured the settings, launch the game and the loading bar gets to the end and stays there

I wonder what the GOG version is like. it says its updated for win 10, 11 etc.

Anyone still bumping into this problem. I used dgVoodoo2. JC is a DirectX9 32 bit game. I hope it helps.
