Resolution change issue - BUG?
I just tried to run JC1 for the first time in a while, and when i went to setup the resolution but can't get the game to run any higher than 1024x768. In the launcher i have it set for 1600x1200, but inside the game it is displaying at 1024x768, and selection of the resolutions will not all me to select anything higher that 1024x768. i have tried tweaking the config file, thinking it might be able to force the resolution, but it didn't work. Also tried running both JC and steam in compatibility mode, which JC really did not like.

I don't really care about displaying the game in 16:9 format, thats not the purpose of this post. I just want to play the game at it's max supported resolution.

anybody know how i can get the game running at 1600x1200?

as i said before, this post is not about using custom resolutions. i am just trying to play the game using the built in supported resolutions.

just tried your solution, and using files from your link, JC1 crashes on load.

[UPDATE]

again, using the files from you link i set the resolution back to 1024x768, and the game loaded with out any issues.

thats all well and good, but my system only supports a maximum of 1680x945, which also did not work with the resolution changer.

and once again, this thread is not about playing the game using 16:9 (widescreen) resolutions. its about the ingame resolutions being disabled and unselectabale past 1024x768

found a solution. not sure why, but in order to get the game to display anything above 1024x768, you have to set the desktop resolution first to the desired level. so in order to get the game to display at 1600x1200, I have to set the desktop first to 1600x1200.

axtually it looks like adding the resolutions used by jc to the resolution list in nv control panel is sufficent to allow me to acces the resolutions from within JC
