Question about story flow

Ok, so ive played a fair number of times now, and every game i would spare roche for the hot french lady. And then the fight happens, and i go to england, but i have yet to actually finish the english crown stuff without dieing.

However, for the first time since i started today, i actually killed french ladies dad. I kicked arse in the fight after, but i also refused to retreat and therefore got put in prison.

Im now in a TOTALLY new area talking to Olivia. Is this a completely separate story branch?
As in, depending on what i do at the end of the fight in france, i will either go to england and try and help the prince take the crown OR ill go to wherever olivia is and do whatevers going to happen here?
Are the paths mutually exclusive? Or will i still end up in England after the diversion to this new place? Or was i going to end up in this new place after i finished in England?

Yeah, you either go to England or stay in France. You can't go back to Brittany from England.

I never took the option so stay in france when i didnt kill Roche, so never knew this existed lol.

Yeah, this is one of the great things about this game. There is actually two branching end game lines. One goes from England to Scotland, while the other goes to Brittany and then the Holy Land.

Although from what I have heard, the Scotland part is more developed than the Holy Land/Desert part. Good luck and have fun!
