2) When returning to England with the Earl, he will send you to retrieve the Sword of Justice where Canterbury will make you an offer.
3) Scottish campaign, I believe is just an extension of the Earl path been too long since I last did it. I think you can just join it or stay in England at the the end of the earl's campaign for the crown. Edit: Unless I am mistaken and there is a whole separate path up there in Scotland.
During a weird one I killed la roche, didn't chase the knight so didn't get captured, didn't have enough respect to get back to earl so had to sell my gear to get a boat to England, then ended up as a peasant in a town then some people asked me to join their robber band, I said no then died in a fight in woods later. I was massively in debt during that playthough, was hilarious
