Armor Repair Is Very Broken
To cut to the point: High end armor repair seems broken.

Got this game day one so that might color it. Lower end armor (leather things and such) seem to repair fine, but higher end gear repair seems broken.

I have Full Leg Armor and Armor Sleeve that are broken and the blacksmith has no option to repair them no matter if they are equipped or not. I also have some Plate Armor that was repairable as unequipped gear when I equipped other chest armor. I have had other armor that seems to behave this way with the blacksmith but don't have specific examples.

I do recall this cropping up in my games, as well. However, I have been able to repair the same items at other times, likely later in the campaign. I'd wager it's something to do with progression, but .

Good to know, thank you for the info. Now to haul around some busted gear for a while I guess. For what it's worth, without getting too plot spoily for anyone reading, I just became a count in England.

I've also had a thing happen a few times where the blacksmith will let me fully repair something for what seems like a normal price, say 50 florins, but then it will keep showing up in either the full or partial repair menus with a 10 florins price, even if I repair it multiple times.

Armor repair mechanics are getting a bunch of fixes in 1.09. It should remedy the majority of the problems (hopefully).

One of the things I've noticed about PC vs. blacksmith repairs / crafting is that game handles it like newb vs. master craftsman. And this seems to be determined by your craft skill. You can see this in that if you have a low craft skill and create armor or try to fix it. The results are like it's like "good enough" but not perfect and this is shown by either the armor value and / or prestige loss for the gear.

For ex., if you take pre-made gear and you have low craft skill and repair it, you're only good enough to repair it some and not all. This will show up with prestige loss for high end armor too. So effectively you fixed it as good as you could be still damaged. This is usually cheaper path because if you had taken same gear to blacksmith he will usually fix it 100% and restore prestige levels you can't. I don't think that's broken, I think that makes 100% more RL.

I have experienced that there are some accessory piece armors (I believe it's the highest plate types for some leg, arm, and neck) that have issues with being non-repairable and do need to be fixed. I'm almost willing to bet those were probably some of the last armor pieces to get added in program and probably fixes for issues last to catch up? This is never been a real problem for me as I tend to loot the dead soldiers I kill like a flock of crows and always picking up loot replacements that cost nothing.

For me the armor repair thing has always been more painful in the low end. Either you have none or get a few pieces AND your skills are low AND you're broke. So anything you get you hold on to like it's gold, can't repair it yourself and for some reason the guy that can repair platemail seems to charge more than the leather armor costs new to fix a broken one? Maybe he's not a leather master and just doing best he can?

Sorry for bumping this up but I appreciate you and all of your hard work on the game. I wish more devs took things seriously and stuck with their games like you have.

And I appreciate this good research as well.
