Getting into Hadley - help appreciated

I've got no gear equipped, bar a medical treatise. What do I actually need to pass this outpost? The game is incredibly vague and doesn't actually give me anywhere to purchase anything even remotely near the clothing of a healer or an alchemist.

You need to have 2 to 3 medical items equipped in order to make it past the guards.
List of possbile items: plague_mask, alchemist_apron, alchemist_gloves, bloodletting_tools, empty_vial, alchemists_pouch, alchemist_tools, medical_book .

Bloodletting tools, empty vial and alchemist tools are usually on sale so that alone should be enough to let you progress.
Also there's an event in this chapter that can let you obtain a medical treatise - so there's another.

I had only the empty vial, alchemist tools, and bloodletting tools equipped and I still can't get in, not sure what the issue is.

Do you have empty vial and alchemist tools equipped in trinket slots?
