In The Valley of Gods

In The Valley of Gods

Is this a joke?
Everytime I look for upcoming games I see this silly game that is coming in 2029 despite being announced in 2017.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS GAME ABOUT ? WHO ARE THE DEVELOPERS? WHY IS IT GOING TO TAKE SO MUCH TIME IN DEVELOPMENT?
and most importantly... WHY DOES IT HAVE A FANDOM?

That seems like mostly questions that would be easily answered by just looking at the storepage? The developer is Campo Santo who also made Firewatch. The fact that Firewatch has a very positive rating with almost 60,000 reviews might have something to do with why people were looking forward to this one.

As for why the development is taking so long: Campo Santo was acquired by Valve.

Du coup il sort vraiment en 2029? Pourquoi les modos laisse tel quel sur le site? Pourquoi ils suppriment pas le jeu du magasin ?

Valve bought Campo Santo, the devs have been integrated into Valves work culture it seems. 2029 is about right. :(

Another one bites the dust.
Silksong is another great example.
Just let go of it and move one, play Elden Bling or Baldurans Gate III.

Il est possible qu'après que Valve ait acheté Campo Santo, ils aient suspendu ce projet. C'est une nouvelle non officielle en ce moment.

It is possible that after Valve bought Campo Santo they put this project on hold. It is the unofficial news right now.

The project is on hold. Camposanto is part of Valve now, and if you're wondering what they've been doing, well.. they made Half Life Alyx. Enough said.

Alyx was released almost 4 years ago.

So it means originaly Firewatch developers (those developers who went merge with valve ) working on other Valve's projects as well -- that would make sense why it is so ... long for simple exploration - narration game. Hope story would be great as much as Firewatch has.
Looking for E3 annoucment.

In this situation this game might never see a daylight.

I will be patient, firewatch is one of my most beloved games with its rich story and art style ,I hope this game will hold the same high quality. It is sad to see that since they were bought by valve, they seem to be experiencing difficulties in management ,that in turn, made the release date be as long as you all know it to be.Anyway, enough about the game,Id like to share my opinion on this ongoing discussion, first of all,it is rude to obligate someone to speak English all the time and make fun of their language. Now please,if you would be so kind, please be patient and moral while we wait,I don't think anyone likes arguing,of course, there are those who do it intentionally who have no responsibilities,no moral code, not even people who love them,in turn, making them bitter or troll in turn to gain the attention they so desperately want to fill the places where that attention was absent in their childhood most likely or another sad part of their bitter lives. That is my opinion on the current matters,I will be gone now,so any mean comments will not affect me because i will continue my life, ignoring the depraved ,and living a full life, goodbye.

It's hard to say if this will see the light of day. Aside from the Campo Santo peeps working on other projects, like Dota 2 & Dota Underlords, about half of the company brought on by Valve doesn't work there anymore - such as Jane Ng & Chris Remo.

My sincerest advice is: stop posting on the internet until you are fluent in reading and searching information.

Pushing aside language discussion for a second I have a theory for the extremely extended release date -

Steam's algorithm attempts to cater to people with games that have closer release date. Things listed as "Coming Soon", are the exception to that. By putting this game at such a massive delay, the game is deep into the abyss. I only found it doomscrolling through all upcoming games until I hit here, rock bottom.

Pushing the game so far out means fewer and fewer people will be recommended a project that likely will never come out, or be interested in following until a closer date.

Sorry for necroing, just my sleep deprived thoughts on this meme of a release date.
