No cut-scene audio in campaign.
As the title says. All audio cuts out during the cut-scenes in the campaign; is there anyway to fix that?

What worked for me was downloading and installing RAD Video Tools from here[www.radgametools.com].

I'm guessing there's some issues with the software installation when Steam first launches the game.

As mentioned here[www.radgametools.com] on the same website, RAD Video Tools is primarily a set of utilities for processing video, animation, and sound data. However, the important part of the installation here is the official Bink Video codec, which is what the cutscenes of Battlestations: Midway also depend on as far as I understand.

Since installing the Tools fixed the cutscene audio issue for me, I believe that Steam failed to properly install the Video codec during the first launch of the game, thus the cutscenes weren't played properly.

It says that the file is encrypted and I dont have the password to access it. Do you know said password?

It's mentioned right there next to the download link for me.

"The RAD Video Tools (includes Bink) for all Windows versions.

This is a 7zip compressed and encrypted file - password: RAD."

Instead of doing that, you could just take a copy of the binkw32.dll from a newer game that also uses the binkw32.dll and copy it to your Battlestations Midway folder. That's what I did. (I would rename the original binkw32.dll in the Battlestations Midway folder to binkw32.dll.bak just in case). If you have a bunch of games, the chances are you have many that use binkw32.dll. Just find one newer than Battlestations Midway and copy the newer dll over. I used the one from my Payday 2 folder.

downloaded the RAD Tools and... The opening cutscene of the Japanese campaign still has no sound. Which is strange, because I can play it in the RAD player and everything is fine there. What's more, the opening Eidos logo is exactly the same file format (.bik) and the game plays the sound when the logo is displayed... :(

So none of these solutions worked for me, but what did work was running the program in compatibility mode for windows 7, no problems after that change. :)
