I'm not having an issue running BM, but I am having an issue where the game stutters like a drunken sailor. Which it shouldn't, considering that it barely uses my 1070. The funny thing is that sometimes it runs perfectly smooth for awhile, but then it often starts stuttering immediately after a cutscene. Other times, gameplay stutters from the very start. I've tried so many things. Including even trying dgVoodoo2 (http://www.dege.freeweb.hu/). It stutters it in fullscreen, windowed mode, at 1k at 4k.. I've tried compatibility mode(s), vsync on/off, forcing options from the nVidia control panel, options for low latency mode, options from BM. I have no issues with anything else inc things like BF1, BFV, etc.! I want to play this game, it's fun, but I can't stand looking at the stutter!
My PC is highly optimized for gaming... very low latency. No unnecessary garbage.

I figured out how to fix this thing. It was driving me mad!
There is a file in the install folder called "testapp.exe" which apparently is a fixed version of the game executable! Simply rename "Battlestationsmidway.exe" to "Battlestationsmidway.exe.bak" ... Then make a copy of "testapp.exe" and rename that copy "Battlestationsmidway.exe" Viola! A fully working Battlestations Midway that runs butter smooth with absolutely no stutter! So far, I've played the first five levels of the campaign with it, with no issues and no stutter!
Thank me later.
Thank you for this info. I had same issue until I read and followed your information. Appreciate it.
It might be trying to launch in a resolution foreign to your setup. Did you configure for your video/audio/options setup using the separate "Options.exe" prior to launching? (Options.exe is a separate file in the Battlestations Midway folder used for setting those options, especially useful for troubleshooting). I have run the game in 1k and 4k and it works great now that I use the "testapp.exe" instead of the default. It works for me in both fullscreen and windowed with everything maxed (quite easily).
If that doesn't work, you could try running the Windows 10 Compatibility Troubleshooter, which may result in a working game.
And if that doesn't work, let me know, because there's a couple more things you can try.
Also, what is your PC config?
I got this error message as well. Renamed testapp.exe - same error. Then I noticed Steam was saying no connection. Restarted Steam and the game launched. Reverted back to the original executable as speech dialog was lost.
