Between The Folding Screens Puzzle Problem

Near the very end of this section of the 4th floor there is a puzzle that I cannot seem to figure out. The hint says something to the effect of "find something different", before branching off in what appear to be two identical rooms, each with a crow-faced yokai. I understand that both of them move differently, but I don't understand the significance of this to the puzzle beyond some kind of intuition about getting them to a specific square (though this could be wrong). Is there something else about the rooms I'm overlooking? I've been struggling with it for a while now, so if anyone has a (better) hint for how to solve this I would appreciate it if you could tell me.

there is a string u can pull in one of the rooms which is the difference.. pull it and the door will open... im stucked at floor 10, do not know why all my elements attacks missed.
