I also tried, without success, cheat engine. I hope the developper will include some cheats codes (money and faster research).
The game is quite challenging. I had the same problem in the first days of playing but when you began to understand how it works, it's really fun to play.

I knew how to change the value of funds using Cheat Engine running in the current version and just recently showed the guide to other players.
If you want to know it, first join Discord and call on the general channel.
I will send you a link soon.

Progorion knows there is a way and doesn't ban it, but cheats shouldn't be published in public more than necessary ;)

I have found :

Use cheat engine, but put unknown value and then click first scan

After, loose money, and put decreased value and click on next scan, repeat until there is 1 or 2 value (the same) and put one or two zero at the end

If you are interested, I can share with you a cheat to do it inside the game. Just friend me and send me a text message on the steam client :)

How is it even possible to consistently lose money on the lowest difficulty?

As long as you don't try to build everything all in one place and pay attention to the absolute basics explained in the tutorial then you'll be finishing off the Personal Computer era techs before the end of the 1970's and just dominating all competition without having to even do more than release one product every 3-4 years.

Example:

Do think I found a slight bug by mistake that causes locked market countries to assign max LP and starts selling your products to that countries, as USSR should still be a closed market.

But all that really did was push my 80-85% market dominance into the 90% range.

Income in that campaign is currently lower because I just upgraded one of my factories to level 5 to meet the 23-25 million PP need spikes that occur whenever I launch a new product due to the sheer demand dominance.

Additional costs were brought on by the USSR bug forcing me to have to massively ramp logistics up as the bug maxes out LP investment in the country with no ability to adjust it.

Do you have any idea how this could have happened? Could you maybe send me a saved game before and after this to support@progorion.com, please?
What was the date when it happened?

I also think, that those who are struggling on the Beginner level, are doing something not too well. I've seen a few playthroughs for example, who were like:
- first, they researched like 15 techs before even building a computer - but only with one lab actually, so it took a lot of time.
- then they created computers which were built in a not too smart way
- then they over or underpriced their computer brutally and skipped the discounts, too
- and they have chosen a really small market, something like Hungary for example, where you cannot make enough money anyway, and they were not expanding.
- very soon they went bankrupt. :(

Even tho if you have a not too bad product, and you expand, you already have a huge advantage on Beginner, because the AI is really slow. Then you just have to research techs and make new computers. You are not really forced to optimize things or even find a strategy to appeal to the market for given markets or user groups.

And yes, of course, they skipped the tutorial because they either don't like to read tutorials, or think that they have a lot of experience coming from other games, so they don't need it. But it is not a game dev tycoon, where you don't have competition, you don't have markets, you don't have demand and production capacity, you don't have a market simulation, and you are not led step by step at every decision point.

This is why I added those bubbles at the top left corner, but they don't seem to notice them (maybe I should animate them). But the eventual solution for these players is only if I add an incremental/built-in tutorial, that you cannot skip and teaches you step by step first everything as a natural part of the game. I plan to do that after I have all the major features in the game.
