How do I change the game's resolution?
I booted the game for the first time and for some reason the game's resolution is set to really low. I'm not sure how low but I think it might be 144p due to how small it is. I went to the really blurred settings and tried modifying the sliders that I can but I can't find the resolution settings. Is it even an option in the game's settings or do I need to modify the game's config files? If it's the latter where can I find the game's config files?

Hello,

I'm really sorry that this happened to you!

###############

In-Game solution:
So on the settings screen, there is a list of things you can change. The second one is the resolution. You have to click on the arrows at the side of the second line to change it.
Then you have to approve it by clicking on the square at the end of the red line on the screen.

###############

Manual solution:
Otherwise, the settings are in the registry files that you can reach by running "regedit.exe" on Windows and looking for this folder:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Progorion\Computer Tycoon

Look for height and width parameters, and set them to the desired one and save them.
If it didn't work, you can try to set ResolutionScreen and ResolutionMode to something else then it is currently at you. Something between 1 and 10.

Restart the game after your changes and see if it worked.

If you mess up something you can always just delete the folder while the game is not running, and when you restart it, the game will recreate everything.

But recommend you trying to fix it from the UI because the values are not easy to predict, they depend on your graphics drivers.

As soon as you have started a new game with the proper resolution, you can also alter the size of the windows in the settings menu if it is necessary.

###############

It is strange that you have this issue, could you tell me more about your video cards, displays - computer configuration, operating system, and drivers, please? Do you use any third-party drivers maybe (so not official ones)?

The in-game option is not viable for me due to the resolution being so low I can't read anything. So I tried the registry editing and here is what I found. There are two screen resolution related registries one being the default one (1024x768) and the ones I currently have (320x200). I changed the non default one to 720p (1280x720) and ran the game. During the intro scene where the developer's name Progorion is displayed, the game is in 720p. What I find weird is the game freezes a bit then when the main menu appeared the resolution goes back down to 320x200. I went to the registry editor and found the non default resolution registry set to 320 and 200. I tried changing the default resolution to match the non default resolution but the same thing happens. In the mean time I might try messing around the in-game settings. Below is how the game look like on my screen

I use an Acer Aspire E 14 laptop with an MX130 graphics card, 1336x768 display, Windows 10 Enterprise operating system, and latest Nvidia drivers version 446.14. I've also tried verifying the game files through Steam.

It is really strange! :( (btw I'm working on this game alone, so Progorion is basically my nick).

On the screenshot you've provided, I think you could still find the buttons that I circled you on my screenshot (I've linked it for you in my previous comment). Please try to do it!

I have no idea why the game changes the resolution after the logo. I feel like something is forcing it to do so? I have no idea, unfortunately.

Update me after you tried the in-game solution! Thank you! We will find a solution!

Hi,

It is me again! I just wanna offer you a free key! Ask for a refund and email me at support@progorion.com (comment here if you have sent me an email). So I can send back a free key for the game.

This way you won't lose money anyways!

Hello I bring good news!

I do not need the refund for I finally have fixed the resolution problem by clicking around the area you circled and I can play the game now (I feel kinda dumb honestly). I was really surprised when you told me that you will go as far as giving me a free key just for a resolution problem. But I got the game working now. I played it for around 45 minutes and the game piqued my interest! The game is very unique in my opinion but my only complain is that the tutorial is a bit unintuitive due to it simply being a text box but luckily there is a guide on Steam. Anyways I think I will play the game more in the future and I am really thankful for the help. Not many developers out there will reply to messages from their players who need help let alone going as far as giving away a free key. Respect. :cozytf2mug:

I'm really happy that you were able to solve it! When somebody asks for help, then I'm more than happy to help, luckily I do not get support tickets that often, so I can handle it!

If you have any feedback, please let me know it, and also consider leaving a review, too! Have a nice day and I hope you will enjoy the game!
