Computer Tycoon - General feedback discussion
I've closed the original ideas thread because it is already extremely long and I put together everything in the roadmap. I can't accept bigger game-changing ideas anymore because I'm already full for the year - but feedback and small things are really appreciated.

Here is the roadmap:

Let me know your thoughts!

Would it be difficult to make it so that double-clicking on a component does the same thing as clicking on the Add to Computer button when creating a new computer design?

BTW, when designing a computer, the Feedback button has the same tooltip as the Market button, which doesn't make sense. Maybe just don't have a tooltip for the Feedback button.

It's on my list (even on the roadmap). :)

I will fix it with a good text (and it's not the only text that I have to fix).

The Done research list does not appear to list them in the order they were completed anymore. That was extremely useful. Please re-add a way to sort them that way, from newest at the top to oldest at the bottom.

Sure thing! It sounds to be a versioning problem :/ I really hope that the game didn't lose anything else.

What do you think about not allowing storage and removable media for Home Computers to use drive bay techs? Since the Home Computer is not modular, and drive bays are for modular components.

Good point! You are right and absolutely fits the roadmap. I will take care of it.

I've checked this screen. I think I know the problem. Did you notice that you can order the list? There are symbols on the top of the list (a small CPU for performance for example). Click on the line and the list will be ordered.

Tho still it is true that you cannot order the list by invention time. Why would you like to see them it this particular order? If you have a good reason, I will make it possible to order it by invention time.

Yup. I noticed that I can order the list by Performance, Quality, Prestige, etc. However, these do not help my memory.

When the game came out, I mentioned how much I liked that it showed the list in the order things were invented. Whenever I forgot what I was researching, I could look at the list and immediately see. Several people wrote in the comments that they would often forget what was being researched, and I told them they could do this. I also mentioned it in the guide I wrote. However, the one thing I wanted was for it to list the newest item at the top, rather than at the bottom. You already have the ability to click on a column heading once to sort down a second time, to sort up, and a third time to turn off sorting for that column. I think you can make it sort by invention by default whenever none of the column sorting options are turned on. That seems better than adding another button.

Jep! Now I remember completely! Thank you!

The roadmap mentions a list about events in the game. Probably it will be switchable from an opened state to a closed one. In this list I will write a bunch of different things. Such as opponent activity (computer releases, market grow etc.) and your activities such as polish is done, building is done... and research is completed.

Something like:

"The "Keyboard" technology research has completed."

I could make this list filter-able, so you could filter to research. This would be the perfect place for that kind of information in my opinion, not the research screen because you are done with the research, so after that point the only reason to remember it is to know what hardware can you update.

What do you think about that? That's why I ask why you'd like to get this list. Do you have any other reason? The fact that we cannot remember everything is obvious, I have a terrible memory! :)

Hmm... I'm sure I would still prefer to have the research window sort by invention time by default, unless/until I click on a column heading to sort by that column. It worked really well before.
