Nice :)
I've checked this screen. I think I know the problem. Did you notice that you can order the list? There are symbols on the top of the list (a small CPU for performance for example). Click on the line and the list will be ordered.
Tho still it is true that you cannot order the list by invention time. Why would you like to see them it this particular order? If you have a good reason, I will make it possible to order it by invention time.
Yup. I noticed that I can order the list by Performance, Quality, Prestige, etc. However, these do not help my memory.
When the game came out, I mentioned how much I liked that it showed the list in the order things were invented. Whenever I forgot what I was researching, I could look at the list and immediately see. Several people wrote in the comments that they would often forget what was being researched, and I told them they could do this. I also mentioned it in the guide I wrote. However, the one thing I wanted was for it to list the newest item at the top, rather than at the bottom. You already have the ability to click on a column heading once to sort down a second time, to sort up, and a third time to turn off sorting for that column. I think you can make it sort by invention by default whenever none of the column sorting options are turned on. That seems better than adding another button.
The roadmap mentions a list about events in the game. Probably it will be switchable from an opened state to a closed one. In this list I will write a bunch of different things. Such as opponent activity (computer releases, market grow etc.) and your activities such as polish is done, building is done... and research is completed.
Something like:
"The "Keyboard" technology research has completed."
I could make this list filter-able, so you could filter to research. This would be the perfect place for that kind of information in my opinion, not the research screen because you are done with the research, so after that point the only reason to remember it is to know what hardware can you update.
What do you think about that? That's why I ask why you'd like to get this list. Do you have any other reason? The fact that we cannot remember everything is obvious, I have a terrible memory! :)
Hmm... I'm sure I would still prefer to have the research window sort by invention time by default, unless/until I click on a column heading to sort by that column. It worked really well before.
