Almost constant disconnects at the start of coop games

I bought the game recently and for the express purpose of playing with a friend but more often than not, the game disconnects us at the start of a game, we get a second of it, the music start, and then we're brought back tto the main menu with varrying error messages (maybe 4 different ones, from "player left" to "connection issues") which is baffling sincce lobbies seem to wwork just fine, showing what players are doing in real time.

I have looked it up and aside from countless update logs all stating they eliminated disconnects and people having this issue at irrelevant moments with irrelevant fixes, I got nothing.

has anyone had this issue so far? the only fix we seem to have found was to launch a different mission and cross our fingers, which barely makes it wworth it since more than half the time, it results in that new level doing the same thing.

Your connection seems ok... Maybe your friend has an high packet loss...

These problems happen when playing with other people?

I haven't tried, being a two player game.

we live less than 2 km away in a large city and both have fiber and run ARK servers, so I'm fairly sure it doesn't come from our connection.

plus it never happens during gameplay. so far we haven't experienced any lag and the game runs perfectly, allowing us to have split second synchronised action.

but it's kind of ruined by having to struggle for sometimes 5 min just to launch another game, which resets our gear to a previous one while forcing us to change missions, which on top of the fact the mission type isn't displayed in the lobby adds tedium to even trying to get 3 stars as we most of the time use just whatever loadout the game lets us out of annoyance.

again, game runs great but this is a hard to ignore thorn in our foot.
