S12K is the most useless shotgun ever. Convince me otherwise.

Just to be clear - do you mean its not good / impossible to play with, or is it that you think there are better options out there?

It's not good, the starting shotgun is better because it has slugs, S12K still has a wide spread and the only good thing about it is that it reloads with mags. That last shotgun unlockable fires just as fast as the S12K, and can have a tight spread. There is no reason to use the S12K except for a challenge.

Sorrry to intrude :) This reminds me, what does "wide spread" mean in a side-scrolling 2-dimensional game like this?

Does it mean a spread from bottom to top of the screen? There's no 'side to side spread" as there would be for a shotgun in the top-down Door Kickers is what I mean. I've just been curious cause I don't know how to interpret what the "spread" means in a game with this viewing angle, thanks.

So far I've stuck with the semi-automatic shotgun, although I was surprised to find the 2nd available shotgun more useful on certain map types.

Yes, from top to bottom.

OK, thanks!

HK512 does not penetrate soft targets as much as other shotguns (S12K included) which makes it good for hostage rescue but not as good for enemy only maps. It also has very noticeable recoil if you try to fire it as fast as the S12K. Not to mention the very slow reload without the speed reload gear.

The S12K is clip loaded and shoots fast WITHOUT recoil. It admit that it kind of sucks that it doesn't have an alt fire but I still find a use for it.

To me the Room Clearer has less use because I don't notice it being a huge improvement over the basic shotgun, but I don't have many complaints over the Breacher weapons.

"Clip loaded." Anyway, the last two shotguns are the only ones worth using, S12K is just pointless and atleast room clearer has slugs.

On the last two Shotguns available, what do the "Switch Ammo" and "Change Fire Mode" functions do? I'm assuming maybe the ammo is buckshot vs. slugs or something? And maybe change fire is from 'wide' to 'narrow' firing style?

Yes and yes.

The KSG has two identical tubular magazines (one buckshot the other one slugs) and you switch between them, shoot and load the current one as with any tube fed shotgun.

The HK512 has a special muzzle brake that prevents you from firing slugs but allows either to shoot in a vertical pattern - hitting only the target that are closest to you only - or in a “horizontal” pattern which is similar to the way the other shotguns shoot - a blast will hit more than one target.

Great, thanks! I've been happy with the Semi-Automatic shotgun, but finally have saved up double digit Stars again so I was debating what to waste them on. :steamhappy:

If I ever restart from scratch again, I think now I'll have a better "game plan" for my Stars. I really wasted a lot of them just figuring out what I liked to use and what stuff doesn't quite fit my preferred play style. :)

Mmmmmm. Think I like the HK512. :-)

btw, kinda of surprised one of the shotguns' ammo options or breacher equipment items isn't a "bean bag round."

That could be helpful on the arrest warrant missions or when we're trying to get a hostage-taker out of the way. :) Even if it were limited to a use or two.
