Quick Stars Mod

[Red Panda]

Description:
Allows you gain 3 stars on each mission within 10 seconds.

Download:

Instructions:
Unzip to your main Action Squad directory and overwrite the existing 'missions.xml' file.
Included in the zip is an original copy 'missions.xml.old' if you ever want to revert.

Play the level you want to easily win 3 stars.

Uninstall:
Delete 'missions.xml' and rename the backed up 'missions.xml.old' back to 'missions.xml'

Warnings:
The game is still in alpha and this mod may break with updates.
COOP may break using this.
This currently works on version 0.5.18


Why?:
As the ALPHA progresses dont assume your userdata won't be reset, potentially losing your progress and weapons. You can use this to catchup or just to experiement with locked weapons.

Don't forget to uninstall this mod once you are happy with your progress.

I know it is early days and it is single player, but these sort of mods arent welcomed by me, especially as next month leaderboards are being added.

I welcome sound and image mods for the future, but not this.
You are overdoing it Red Panda, first thread by you was great, but i dotn want to see spammed "mods" for a game which has only just started in early access, i want the devs to make the game thanks.

At 52 i sense smarm and sarcasm quite easily.
I actually have no interest in your mods now tbh, the devs have just started to develop their game and you are bringing out essentially cheats now.

You arent the devs, and the sort of stuff you do is fine after a game is released but you seem to have delusions of being one of the devs.

Mods are welcome but both the moder and users should keep in mind the game is not ready for proper mod functionality yet.

As a separate note, Red Panda is a great supporter of KillHouse Games and one we can consider our friend. He's also worked with us closely on modding for the tablet version of DK1.

RabidUrko, we understand your concern about Leaderboards but of course when they come there will be proper protections in place :)

There is no problem with voicing concerns and disagreeing with mods but the tone you are adressing each other is definitely not civil.

Panda doesn't have VIP status as we don't have either, we still have to behave decently. I'm just pointing out that while he isn't a proper dev, he's very close to being one, in fact.

And the "be civil" note was directed at both of you.

Each an every user is free to make their own opinion and use or not use whatever mod they want.

I have never considered myself one of the devs nor have I ever voiced as such. I'm good friends with the devs and even they have voiced their own concerns about some of my creations back from DK1. My advantage of being just a user is I can do as I please.

I have seen just 4 posts by Red Panda regarding mods, hardly what I would call spamming the forum. In general, modding is important and encouraged by us on our games, where its appropriate, and it's also important to see what players want or think about modding in order to provide better support or disallow it if it breaks the game.


We come from a long history on working with modders or on games that are modded (think Silent Hunter @ Ubisoft) or playing moddable games, and we think mods are great and the great mass of players can think of or develop stuff that we never even think of.


Your concern is noted and we'll probably create a Workshop section on the forum to better separate mod threads from regular threads, without censoring mods.

Red, you might just create a thread called "Red Panda's Awesome DK:AS Mods" (I really mean the 'awesome' part, Im not being sarcastic ) -- then whenever you add a new mod announcement in that thread, it'll bump your thread to the top of the message board.

That way we can see all your posts in one thread/place, rather than in threads scattered all over the forum. It's not very busy right now, but I bet it will eventually. And imho this would make it easier to keep track of all your good stuff, any updates you do to keep mods compatible with the latest build, or catch up on stuff people missed, when they get into this game later in early access. :)

The mod is out of date, it wont work with the new version

The last version has cheats (we'll probably remove them after release). I can only tell you that it has 7 directions and melle at the end. PM me if you want more help. They will give you stars or Strategic Points.
