Learning to Play Drums With Paradiddle

First I would like to congratulate the developers for creating such a great VR experience. It’s truly brilliant!

I’ve seen a few posts lamenting the fact the program is at present pretty much devoid of educational content. I know the devs have said some is on its way, which is great. But for those wanting a bit more right now, I thought I’d mention my setup. I’ve started my learning journey by installing OVR Toolkit and purchasing a subscription to Drumeo Edge. I have an OVR window containing the Drumeo website/content above the Paradiddle kit which enables me to watch lessons and play along to tracks all in VR.

Works great and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

Note: I have no affiliation to either OVR Toolkit or Drumeo. I believe there is actually some free content available from the latter.

Nice, that's a very good idea! Ideally there'll be interactive lessons which use the same principle as the follow along Songs mode, more oriented towards learning the basics though. At the moment, if you're on the beta branch, you can try and learn basic songs while setting the speed you like, to build up your speed and take it one step at a time. Viewing drum lessons through OVR Toolkit is really clever too, I would have suggested using the Oculus desktop if you were on that, where you can pin any window on your screen, including your internet browser if it's open.

Interested to know how this is working for you. Are you satisfied with the experience using OVR and Drumeo? Is there anything you've had to do to adjust to using a VR drum kit?

I'm interested in using this app to learn the drums too. What pedal are you using ?
