Why cant you use a gamepad for this game?

I have a USB gamepad that I've used for majority of my steam games but for some reason Hitman 2 doesnt pick it up.

Is there any way I can make it work? I would like to be able to use it for older games like this over the keyboard and mouse.

Cause its a real PC game and only reason it was on PS2 was cause they ported it to PS2

PS2 was how i first played SA
but as far as using a controller in the PC version, idk
maybe get PS2 emulator and an ISO?

Go into big picture mode. Go to Hitman 2, and check the controller options. You can map those controls yourself, or load a preset made by other people. You will still have to navigate the game's menu with your mouse, and press Esc to skip cutscenes.
