Can't limit FPS?
I'm trying to limit the FPS on Hitman 2 and Nvidia's settings, Nvidiaprofile, Precision X1, Bandicam...nothing has worked. I still get around 600 FPS even though I'm trying to limit it to 60. Any idea what's up?

Same issue. I've tried even using NVIDIA Inspector, game just keeps shooting up past 1000 and goes into freeze frame mode.

This Github fix by fkortsagin fixed the game for me. This locks FPS by enabling vsync, allows for proper widescreen, and fixes the gray/black screen issue (the guide for it is somewhere here on Steam, but all the steps are also on Github):

What version are you using? I'm using 2.1.2.0, a very old version from 2016 and it works fine for capping FPS

I previously posted a fix for this issue which doesn't involve using third-party programs or tweaking stuff in NVIDIA. All you need is the Hitman2.ini

So first open the game folder Steam > Hitman 2 > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files

After that open hitman.ini and at the top you will see DrawDLL most likely set to D3D.
Delete D3D and set it to OpenGL :) DrawDll RenderOpenGL.dll

I got from 3000fps and slow motion to capped 60fps with that.
If that doesn't help you (which would be strange unless you have a ♥♥♥♥ PC and you shouldn't be doing this) try playing with the resolution and also bump all your settings to the max :)

Have fun :)

use msi afterburner, precision x sucks since they were sued. Afterburnrer is like the old precision x, can even uses the same skin

Running the game in windowed mode also limits FPS for you.

Would this work for Contracts? I'm getting the "freezing" on the slow motion death thing because of a 500+ FPS.

Almost the exact same edits work for Hitman: Contracts. Here is what you need to add to the ini:

-edit “HitmanContracts.ini” to include a line that just says “window”
-In “HitmanContracts.ini” change “StartUpperPos 2,2” to “StartUpperPos 0,0”

If you want proper widescreen, use nemesis2000's widescreen fix:
http://ps2wide.net/pc.html

Scroll down to Hitman: Contracts, download the file and extract the contents to your game installation directory (password: h3).

Always run the game as administrator, and second, get Vsync ON in video options.

Use RivaTuner that comes with MSI Afterburner if you can... I tried to limit the FPS with Nvidia Control Panel and it didn't work.

Hey thank you very much this worked perfectly

NVIDIA and Radeon software options are not very reliable. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't and you'll never understand why.

For limiting FPS all you need is the Riva Tuner from MSI Afterburner

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html

On this game you want to limit to 60fps. Things will start to glitch out if you go beyond that.

In this case I think the NVidia and Radeon software works on DX9 or greater. Since this is a DX8 game I dont think they can hook.
