Tracking Hyamoto bugged or I'm missing something?
I sneak past the outside guards, honk the horn, guard comes out, sneak past him, run down the hall and grab the clothes. No one sees me.

Cut fugu fish - plant the poison and transmiter, girl picks up the right plate... annnnnddd nothing.

I've restarted the mission twice thinking someone must have seen me. What am I missing? The dude just never dies. I've even left the game running for 30 minutes for giggles.

This confirms a suspicion I had that the Steam version is bugged, because a lot of aspects of the game seem wonky (or rather more wonky than it should be). The GOG version is 1.01, Steam version is 1.02 which is the 'censored' version, so maybe it's related to that.

My only idea would be:

- Try both plates, and make very sure you are planting both things. It's very easy to miss one, or plant one and accidentally select a different command from the drop down list. This list design makes it very easy to make a mistake in what you intended to do and this was finally fixed in BM when the redid the controls.

- Do not go anywhere near or be seen by the lady. She is very squirrelly and walking into her resets and possibly glitches her pathing. Exit out the back door if needed.

hahaha I definitely tried all that. Different combos, different timing, both plates, etc.

I played the original on GameCube and am familiar with the setup.

Tracking HM is a small nice but very timings focused level, but not bad. It's too bad after that you get to move on to 2 levels of vast, frozen, glitchy hell.

I think Tracking Hayamoto is the smallest level of all the Hitman games
It's also pretty easy to get SO SA AZ on (assuming you hit the exit before they find his body)

When the guy never died for me, it was because I'd disturbed the people in hayamoto's room before he ate the transmitter.

Did you see my video in the other thread? I am playing steam version, and it worked perfectly for me, other than the alert glitch, which I figured out. If you didn't see it (you did comment in the thread but I dunno if you watched my video), see if there is anything you are doing different than I did.

Do you leave via the back door or back out the front again? go out the back route and around the house. Also, once you plant the junk, just leave, dont wait for the dish to be taken. not sure if thats what you did?

Please give updates if you get it figured out.

Lol - I agree that "valley" is glitchy because the guards like committing suicide by truck, but "gates" is super straightforward, never had a glitch there. The only difficult part at all to me is I sometimes mess up stalking the guy on the cliff for hit outfit at the beginning (I sedate him, not kill) - everything else is a very linear path to AZ/SA

I've killed guards on Hidden Valley that I know for a fact no one else would ever find or see me do it, and yet when I do that, everyone in the base now knows who I am even though there was never an alert or body found

'disturbing' them has no effect on the 1.01 version, only on Steam version
the AI acts more glitchy in the 1.02 version

I appreciate the help, but I actually posted this back in April 😂

I beat the game back then and accepted there would be a level on which I didn't get SA

Don't skip the cut scene where Agent 47 is adding the fugu fish to the dish.
