Hitman 2: Silent Assassin Black Screen

The logo trailer is stuck when i press escape it goes to news paper scene and its stuck too then i press escape again it shows menu fine when i start a new game i hear is music only and black screen then it wont let me do anything and i i have to alt-F4 out of it the game is not working for me please help i am using windows 10

I had the same but then I found a fix. "Black screen during the cutscenes" www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Hitman_2:_Silent_Assassin#Issues_fixed Downloaded a Windows 10 patch and extracted to game path.
Try that and let us know.

No official help here normally for game this old. I had the same issue. If you play older games like this then DGVoodoo2 should be your go-to tool with all of them. It's a DirectX wrapper that redirects the game to use newer DirectX. It also emulates an older graphics card like the game would expect to see when it was released. It's not so much a patch as it is a generic way to port old games. The links provided above are saying to do the same thing using another popular DX wrapper, D3D8to9. It's more lightweight. Only redirects DX8 to DX9. DGVoodoo will do anything DX9 and earlier then redirect it to DX10, 11 (default), or 12. Both have worked for me in this game.

Download the DGVoodoo2 zip
Extract the zip (read the manual)
Copy the proper DX dll files (or all 4) from MS\X86\ to game location (no installers)
Start game

Movies and everything should work fine, and game should now be using DX11.
Enable DXT Compression in game settings. <-Possible texture glitch
If you want to change aspect ratio (forced fullscreen) or remove the DGVoodoo watermark learn how to use the DGVoodoo Control Panel in the extracted folder.

To remove it from a game just delete the DLL's you copied.

Alright first the game wasnt working on windows 10 then i tried on linux with steam proton on and it worked fine game is running smoothly
