¿Será buena idea alejar mi hogar de las zonas con contaminación radioactiva pero después comerme conejos y peces que probablemente tienen 2 cabezas? ¿Aceptaré en mi grupo de supervivientes esta niña perdida para después dejarla morir simplemente de sed? ¿Conseguiré de algún modo acabar con las heces radioactivas de mis colonos y la enorme contaminación, a modo de central nuclear, de las letrinas? ¿Cuánto tiempo sobrevivirán mis colonos a base de una dieta exclusiva de cucarachas? 🤔

Esta y otras muchas preguntas tendrás que resolver en Surviving the Aftermath, un juego que nos permite gestionar y liderar nuestro propio asentamiento en un mundo postapocalíptico.

📝 Nota: esta reseña ha sido actualizada DESPUÉS del acceso anticipado, para poder juzgar de forma global y completa los contenidos del juego una vez finalizada la etapa de acceso anticipado (que ha durado alrededor de 2 años).

Aunque podemos encontrar juegos similares al presentado por el equipo de Iceflake Studios (creadores del también disfrutable Surviving Mars) como por ejemplo Endzone – A World Apart, The Last Haven o, incluso y salvando las diferencias, Rimworld, lo cierto es que este título tiene algunos aspectos que lo hacen único.

Y es que, además del apartado de gestión de bases, también tenemos un sistema de exploración y combate que, aunque sencillo, añade un reto extra a nuestra partida.

Por otro lado, creo que este juego bebe especialmente del genial Frostpunk. Así, en situaciones de catástrofes o en los eventos aleatorios me recuerda mucho a la jugabilidad de este título. Y esto no es malo en absoluto, al contrario.

Me ha gustado, y mucho, la BSO, los menús del juego y el sistema de organización de la base. Sin embargo, echo en falta mayor profundidad al sistema de exploración del mundo. Aunque es cierto que el juego está recibiendo actualizaciones constantes y, muy probablemente, recibirá una buena remesa de DLCs en el futuro... Prueba de ello es la salida a la venta del Ultimate Colony, que te garantiza acceder a los 3 próximos añadidos adicionales que lance el equipo.

Sin embargo, todo esto nos asegura que nos encontramos con un título que será disfrutable durante mucho tiempo y al que podremos volver para descubrir nuevas novedades.

Algo que puede precisar de futuras revisiones es la optimización del juego. Y es que, pese a tener una base pequeña y pocos colonos, mi GPU 2070 se puso modo infierno. Esto es algo que arreglé, en parte, bajando la calidad gráfica un poco. No obstante, debo decir que en esta versión fuera del acceso anticipado he podido comprobar una enorme mejora en este aspecto.

Un aspecto que me parece muy destacable son los diferentes eventos que se generan a lo largo de la partida y que aportan una mayor variabilidad, rejugabilidad y diversión al título. Y si eres como yo un amante de las distopías, los apocalipsis y la gestión de bases, este título te va a encantar.

Por cierto, no está bien indicado en la página de Steam sin embargo el juego sí que se encuentra en español. No obstante, hay algunos pequeños textos que todavía no están actualizados a nuestra idioma, especialmente los de la última actualización.

Resumiento, una combinación de un sistema de juego similar a Banished con un mundo estilo Fallout que hará las delicias de los amantes de la superviviencia, la gestión y los city builders.

Está entretenido y tiene buen contenido. Está traducido al español pero Steam no lo indica.

Si te gustó Surviving Mars y Trópico, este es mucho más divertido y personalmente creo que como entretenimiento es mucho mejor que su homólogo marciano.

Si tuviera que definirlo sería una mezcla entre Trópico y (no me matéis) Total War ¿Por qué?

Las mecánicas internas del territorio a gestionar donde residen los colonos así como la evolución de las viviendas y procesos productivos son cercanos a Trópico y sus eras (empiezas con chabolas y acabas con residencias), pero por otra parte, el sistema de personajes por turnos y gestión de puestos avanzados en el mapa Mundi tiene mucha influencia de los Total War.

¿Qué le falta?

Si te haces con las mecánicas del juego por tu cuenta tras sudar sangre por la curva de dificultad: poco. Pero una "Civilopedia" ayudaría y mucho, ya que le falta contenido explicativo respecto a edificios, tecnologías y mecánicas básicas.

Le faltan minimapas, tanto en el modo ciudad como en el mapamundi, al no haber, piensas que el mapa és más pequeño, pero a la larga: urge.

Le falta un multijugador, este juego lo pide a gritos: dos personas pegándose por fundar puestos fronterizos y gastando recursos y personajes para conquistar y defender partes del mapa daría mucho juego.

Le falta pulir UX, las interfaces cuando seleccionas héroes en el modo mapamundi son confusas a veces.

¿Si le falta tanta cosa por qué me gusta tanto?

Es innovador, engancha, no se hace monótono, el sistema de personajes y mapamundi hace que cada jornada y cada turno se note:

En el civilization o en el total war, puedes pasar turnos vacíos, aquí no. En el Trópico o en el Surviving Mars, puedes darle al modo rápido y te pasa los meses sin darte cuenta: aquí no.

Es un señor juego al que le falta un poco más de amor por parte de Paradox.

Very fun if you like colony sims The sprinkles of random RP events really helps bring it together. I have enjoyed it for many hours, but it does feel a little incomplete. It's like the game is mostly there, but would feel better with a bit more rounding out.

PRO:

CON:
- Specialists need to be super micro managed both in the colony map and world map
- Specialists don't auto finish long paths that were established the previous world map turn
- The farther the Specialists need to travel on the world map, the more tedious it becomes
- Sometimes world map specialist control can feel like a chore
- Inability to select specific colonists to a job; current is random who it adds

Below is stuff I wouldn't hold against the game at all and personal preferences.

INSIGNIFICANT CONS:
- Lack of upgrade options directly on buildings. (I prefer games where when I place a building down I can upgrade the building in that spot. This mostly affects housing and is a super minor thing.)
- World Map Resources don't respawn close to your city. It would be nice if even only smaller things respawned near the city and better materials had to be found much farther away.
- Specialists not helping when raiders attack your gate feels weird, especially when you can make them stand there and watch. Would be nice if there was something for them to shoot too to make it feel like they were protecting, or just make it so they can't go past the gate when it is being attacked.
- Colonists don't seem to relocate items from an overloaded storage space into a more empty one? Maybe I missed it, but it would be nice if there was a way for them to better redistribute items instead of just an allow/disallow option.
- I would love to see more assignments to carriers be it priority on what they do, or specific jobs. For example maybe one person only carries to food storage, or make it so one person can work on roads
- More focus on improving colonists traits and abilities so that they are better suited for specific job types
- Banner icons and choice having more variety would be nice to make it more customizable
- Some lack of mouse over tooltips. It's pretty minor but especially when starting out I have to match pictures instead of oh that is this new item and it is for this.

SUGGESTIONS:
- Have the ability to assign basic roles to specialists on the colony map such as, repair things, gather things, or help build
- Allow "auto pilot" for specialists on the world map. For example when selecting something that will take 3 or 4 turns of AP recovery, let them finish that path automatically. When you click far away and see the numbers, it makes it seem like they will auto complete, but then they don't
- Add more random events, even ones that offer no or just a minor reward. There is a decent amount now, but more would add more fun world building.

Muy entretenido, con bastantes misiones y eventos que quitan la monotonía en este tipo de juegos. Siempre mejorable en este sentido. Llevaba tiempo esperando un builder de esta temática. Para mí mucho mejor que los anteriores. Recomendable.

Conclusión: Juego bastante dificilillo al principio y que le vas cogiendo el tranquillo para sobrevivir. Es bastante divertido.

ME parece un juego muy completo parecido a Dawn of Man pero con la diferencia que tiene lo que le falta al otro titulo. comercio. misiones. etc..

También decir que el juego tiene profundidad, las misiones ayudan mucho. La loca vieja que te regala cosas un + para el juego lo unico que veo que podría mejorarse es el acalaramiento de ciertas cosas o acciones que haces:

-cuando creas la federacion no te dicen nada mas que cuanto ganas por cantidad de aliados que dispongas, (en ningun sitio te dice que no vas a poder aliarte con nadie mas despues de crearla.)
- podrían decirte cuando demueles un objeto cuanto % de materiales recuperar (cosa que no dicen).

algun que otro fallo que creo que tiene:

-cuando tienes cantinas o comedores la gente sigue comiendo productos basicos en lugar de platos elaborados pese a que te sobren por las orejas.
- El invernadero, campos etc. no sabes cuanto sacas de cada hasta que no lo van a cosechar.
-cuando te atacan no tienes ningun boton para llamar a todos tus guardias a la puerta o especialistas. tienes que buscarlos tu solito.

pese a esos pocos fallos el juego esta genial, muchas horas de entretenimiento y te dan ganas de darle de nuevo una y otra vez mejorando errores que cometistes.

First to cleaify - I have 30 hours in game on Epic so my Steam play time isn't relevant.

Over recent years, there has been a marked rise in the number of both colony management and city builder simulators, all across the gaming market. Some of them were very well done, such as the colony survival sim, RimWorld (which has garnered a massive underground audience since its full release back in 2018), while others were a crashing bore.

Iceflake Studios has taken influences from both colony management and city builder games alike, and created an amalgam of both with their new title, Surviving the Aftermath. As you’d probably guess from the title, the game’s setting is a dangerous post-apocalyptic world where scattered groups of survivors are locked in a life or death struggle for survival.

You’ll manage a small group of colonists who will have to collect resources and build up their meager starting colony in order to survive. This means you’ll have to do things such as planning where to place structures in order to yield the best results for their efficiency. Food and water are, of course, of paramount importance at the start of the game. From there, you’ll move onto gathering wood and stone and many more resources that the game world provides.

Some of the more advanced resources that your colony will need to obtain are scattered around outside of your colony’s domain. In order to gain access to those, you’ll have to hire Specialists who are adept at acquiring them. This, in turn, opens the game up from your colony map to the more expansive overland map.

It’s nice that Surviving the Aftermath provides each of your colonists with a bit of personal flair including their own wants and needs. Some of them are also imbued with specific bonuses, such as being able to work faster, etc. The game strikes a good balance between having micro and macro management elements present.

In an apparent ode to another post-apocalyptic survival sim, Frostpunk, you’ll occasionally be presented with choices that have ethical dimensions to them. Making the right choices can spare the lives of your colonists, bolster your resources, and the like. On the other hand, making the wrong decisions will usually result in something really bad happening.

In all, Surviving the Aftermath is a highly engaging game that combines many of the best elements of both city building and colony management sims.

Como amante del género, se ajusta muy bien a lo que es. Lo mejor que tiene es poder jugar con la dificultad, sobre todo porque últimamente los juegos de gestión se me hacen demasiado fáciles y este tiene un buen balance. Recomendado 100%.
