But I'll pass on this feedback to the team - I agree that it could definitely be a lot more clearer! :) Thanks again for your post and of course, playing our game! :)
My crops can hardly be any more durable with cabbage having 3 of 4 resistance points. But now I am getting only HALF the expected yield from my large field (100, not 200) and there doesn't seem to be any way to actually "protect your field"! (Cats? Mesh wire? Rat poison?) Seems you cannot do anything against this.
For open fields, this is a simple game mechanic which takes some of your food away every once in a while. Perhaps less is taken in proportion to the chosen crop's resistance. The best counter is to... produce more food than you really need, so that you have a buffer to get through problems.
