Vehicles disappearing
If a character is in a vehicle and I send them home, they go home and the vehicles seem to be lost, are they gone forever now, or am I just not seeing something?

The vehicle becomes unavailable to the player until they've researched and built a garage. The downside to this is that you also require electricity to run the garage so it becomes a mid to late game structure and by that stage you can have quite a few cars that you aren't able to use.

This is a question that almost everyone including me asked at some point. Hopefully the devs will be able to address it in some way, even just to make it clearer as to what happens when you bring a car back.

Thanks for the reply. It seems really silly to me for a vehicle to simply vanish. That makes no logical sense at all. They should at the very least return them once you have built the garage or auto exit them just outside of town or something.

What would make some sort of sense is granting you materials of some sort for dismantling the cars you bring into town.

Actually you do get all the vehicles back once you've built the garage. The idea of the garage is to both repair them and refuel them. But i think it'd make it a lot easier for players if the cars were shown somewhere inside the settlement and maybe labelled as waiting on a mechanic etc or even "build garage to access these". At least that'd give players an indication that they need to build the garage to get them going again.

Wow, that is kind of bizarre. I drove a car home and when I could not find it again I figured it was turned to scrap or something. The car still had plenty of gas and was in good condition. The garage thing is definitely good to know.

My theory is that it's post apocalypse, there's no maintained vehicles out there, but you find one and manage to get it started, it seems to drive well enough to get you back to the colony but the colonists don't want to risk taking it out until it's had some work done on it, so it sits there until the garage is built. I'd like to be able to visually see the cars brought back with some kind of indicator saying, waiting on garage.

the dev still need to let players to drove it and refuel it without unlocking garage. the idea that garage is needed is very silly. because we can refuel our vehicles without needing a garage to refuel and fix it.

and it can also be made that the vehicle cannot be fully fixed without electricity.

and the research to unlock it is too deep. the dev really need to fix this. i stopped playing the game after a while. because after i unlock all the research. there is nothing else to do.
and i became bored of the game.

they need to add something to keep players interested in playing after everything is unlocked.
