hunters using axes?
Can we get a other animation for the hunters?
They use axes against tree's to create meat and fiber wich does not make any sense.

Heya!

Indeed, the animation for them is a bit odd - I'll forward this feedback to the rest of the team. No promises or guarantees, but I'll see what I can do :)

Thanks for your post and of course, thank you for playing!

I found it strange when I saw a colonist going the wrong way to chop a tree (I had the lumberyard work area on the other side of the map), and then I saw a meat icon rise to the heavens. (grin)

First time I saw it I thought my lumberjacks were cutting down the trees in my hunting grounds.

Would be nice if they used the crossbow firing animation/sound. Would make more sense.

I just started my first colony, and noticed the same issue with my trapper... The worker appears to be using a woodcutter animation, not a hunting/trapping animation. Also, the work area marker for the Trapper shows up as small & large trees, and shows XX logs, not detailing the animals within the area.

Those indicators aside, this is my only active source of food gathering, and my food stocks ARE increasing per the trapper, and everyone is eating. so I figure it must just be pulling the wrong UI elements, but functioning normally otherwise.

I have played through a few times but since this recent update i've just noticed that the trappers behave just like wood cutters. I turned off all my actual lumber yards so that i could be sure that the trappers weren't actually harvesting timber. So they do actually bring in meat, however they also cut down the trees providing no wood. The problem with this is tht over time the area of forest that they hunt loses trees and the efficiency percentage starts to drop until eventually there's no more trees and the hunting stops. i have been able to prevent this by having a forester permanently plant trees to offset it, but it doesn't really make sense that hunters would cut down trees and leave the wood behind. Seems like a bug to me, anyone else noticed this?

@dallas Thanks for the info - as far as I know, they should not actually be cutting down the trees, the animation should only be the same. I'll have a member of our team check this!

I wondered if this problem is still happening? I have just got used to always having a forester permanently covering the hunting area so i haven't noticed whether any trees are being lost through hunting. But sounds like they still are.
