Built environmental station. Should I build a waste dump?
Serious question.

Without a waste dump, workers bring collected waste to the station and it 'degrades' and I think disappears over time because it is not stored. Is this bad??? I am not sure that there was a negative consequence for failing to store the waste......

With a waste dump, the -workers who cleaned the waste- spend time bringing it all the way to the dump, drastically slowing the rate at which they can clean up pollution.

This game screams -almost- finished.....

That's a very interesting point! To waste, or not to waste, the waste....

- The pollution is something we've had plans for for aaaaages.. not yet in the game but we hope to include it at some point. Right now it is just there for you to sell and get some cash out from it :)

Build the waste dump. Waste can actually be traded. Not worth much, but its good to toss it into a trade of other goods for a little monetary bump.

I always build the dump right across the road from the station then set a repair depot to keep them free of contamination. The worker processes the waste then takes it right across the road and stores it then goes out to grab more waste on the map.

I also build those 2 buildings well out of my city to avoid contaminating other buildings and a medical tent close to them for the workers when they get radiated. An outhouse or toilet close by helps slow the workers getting radiated, just make sure the repair depot covers the outhouse / toilet because it will get contaminated quickly.

Like others have said I always just sell my stockpiled waste for a little extra cash, it does not sell for much but it adds up by the time you clean the entire map of waste.

Why can you sell other settlements pollution?! Why would they want it? I mean...it's radioactive so maybe in the future the tech tree will include nuclear tech so it may become refinable and therefore valuable and maybe other settlements know that...?

I'm really enjoying this game but it definitely has its quirks...

Since it was the environmental-science faction and the neutral-science faction that bought radioactive waste I figured they were paying me out of good will for cleaning up the wasteland. I would really like there to be a "Atomic Pile" building that uses radioactive waste to generate electricity, then there'd be a reason for a barrel of waste to have some value.
