Carrier problem
So after repeatable coming to the same problem in late game i can see only one fix. Carriers are great early game as there is not much production and building going on, but late game it becomes a nightmare to manage resources and everything that's going on as there tends to be much more then moving things from a and b and the carriers are quick to be over worked and stuff is lost or colonists seem to get confused and stand around idle. The only work around for this would be to have the workers recover and deposit the goods themselves as this would free up carries to just do building and misc stuff. also i noticed there seems to be a prioritise problem as many colonist will run to the same mat that is needed as some sort of crazy black Friday thing and only stop when the fastest to get there picks it up.

Once hitting 100-130 colonists, catastrophes are a problem. Even with 35 of 110 set as carriers, A fallout storm contaminates everything, and drags down everything.

An ice storm is worse. I've got 300 firewood saved up, and 35 colonists as carriers, and nobody refills them, once they run out, everyone freezes. Went from 130 to 100 from that.

That's because the carries are trying to do everything while the workers are waiting.

the best solution to this would be a switch in the buildings tab that lets you turn on and off if the building is dependent on carriers adding to the management of the game. farms are nuts as I've lost loads of food as the carriers are off somewhere else.

Add to this that Maintenance Depots are a waste of time, I dont know if it because they need carriers to bring items to do repairs or something but most of the time they seem to sit and drool while staring at the wall. The game has potential but very buggy at the moment.

I have the same issue, I just see a lot of npcs not doing anything and not assigned to a building, I understand that if I assign them they're no longer carriers.

Maintenance office is not effective, but it saves you from clicking on every single building to be fixed or decontaminated. This is not an issue in a small colony, but if you play on a hard setting, with loads of catastrophes, lots of pollution and have a high population, it gets tedious. You can still click the buildings if you want to get it fixed faster, but you don't have to if it's not super important to get it done ASAP. I tend to build 1, with 1 workers, to handle the toilets before I can upgrade them, also preferably other places where I have to build close to pollution due to lack of space, and later to cover the electricity as that seems to need a lot of repairs.

LOL I have this problem current...biggest ones after 3 150+ day restarts...no matter what I do...propaganda cripples my settlement to the point its not even fun anymore....and they make the buildings require energy which is even more of a PITA because you need a TON of research points....its pointless...game is sadly too unplayable and/or enjoyable...funny thing is...I did better on hard settings compared to easy lolz
