Heat and outer rim buildings
Do I need heaters for non-residential buildings? I have some water/fish production buildings on a frozen lake.. not sure if they stay warm without a separate building to do that for them.

Thanks :emofdr:

Yes, work buildings should be heated. This considerably slows the rate/speed at which Colonists get too cold, quit working, and have to go home to warm up. That's if it didn't get so bad that they have to detour to a medical tent, first ;)

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. Just to be safe, I built a burner near my water and fish-gathering area and it seemed to improve their work conditions. Perhaps I haven't looked far enough down the research line, but the ability to have a stove in a building would be a good upgrade idea instead of relying on giant burn pits outside of the building.

Heya! Sorry for the late reply, only now had the chance to go through the posts here :)

So indeed, having the burners close by will decrease the speed at which the colonists become cold and need to go home to warm up!

There are also some buildings that _must_ be heated for them to work. The Water Collector and the Fishing Pier (tier 1) are these types of buildings - if they do not have heating, they will stop working. The Fishing Pier does have an upgrade that doesn't need this, available from the Tech Tree :)

Hope this information helps, thanks for your post and of course, thanks both for playing!

Cool. Yeah, I eventually figured it out. It's a cool mechanic (the freeze). I would like to see more things you can upgrade in buildings, such as stoves. Seems like a logical thing one would do a building in the apocalypse.

Thanks for your reply though! Always awesome to hear something from the dev(s).

Cheers! :emofdr:
