guard post range

Can anyone tell me the work range of the guard post? I get this big circle we i place the thing, but that is just the area they uncover. I want to know the area the guards actually protect. Anyone know this?

from my play, it is only right at the guard tower, unless you press the danger horn. Then they will attack anything close or on their way to the guard tower. With out the siren, they just stand and watch.

i have noticed that too. There is a lot of standing and watching in this update. They were finally getting so many things to a respectable spot with this game. They so many steps backwards on so many systems so far in my experience with this update.
