They will eventually change that.
That said, you as the owner of the gpu, have all the tools in the control panels and device drivers to prevent games like this from using too many resources and too much power.
Limit the power consumption in a custom profile for the game in the gpu control panel.
Whatever the final result will be of the optimization process, you should always be making sure any game does not over subscribe your system. Never assume a game will do this for you.
As mentioned by SkiRich above - we are still in Early Access and this unfortunately means that our game simply is not as optimized as it should be. We are of course working on improving this but as we are also still adding in content to the game, we cannot really do this properly yet - as adding new stuff would usually render most work done on the optimization obsolete. So a known issue at the moment but definitely something we will work on as we develop the game further.
Even when setting graphics to low limited to 30fps the fan of my graphics card is as loud as when i am playing Cyberpunk...
Sadly this will take some time - as mentioned above, while we are still in Early Access, any optimization we do will take away resources that could be used elsewhere and most likely end up being obsolete work. We are doing some work on this of course, but just not as much as we would want to for the entire game!
How can a game like this affect an RTX 2080? Crazy.
funny to hear how such an EA title could nearly brake a RTX but my old lady takes it bravely
Besides, the fans kicking in at full power at only 60 degrees (Celsius I presume) just smells like bad fan management, there is absolutely no reason to spin the fans at full power at such low temps.
i7 8700 RTX 2080 32 gigs of RAM this game still spike at 100% GPU usage and ranges wildly from 30 to 100% CPU usage.
Even downscaling the graphical option does not have any sizable effect on GPU usage.
Seriously devs, address this problem please.
P.S. I'm used to my RTX 2080 staying mostly quiet while gaming, normally it only needs to spin up its fans when playing in VR - for which I got it after all and there it doesn't disturb - but otherwise it becomes rather annoying quickly with it competing over my speakers...
This 100%
But hey good to see after all this talk about it being fixed before they will finsih up 1.0 and delivering absolutley nothing on it just shows how much they care about their customers.
