what? why did they pick it up then?
(also how do I make controller work again, it's not in options?)
Vortex Uprising is building off of Icons to be a unique game.
Icons: Legacy Edition is intended as a snapshot of the original team's efforts.
It is also based off of Icons, but is getting a major overhaul. Characters as they are (looks, movesets, etc) are all subject to change. They will be two separate games. Legacy wont go away
What happened is this game failed to turn heads in Early Access and the devs had to fold from the lack of revenue.
One of the people from the dev studio bought the rights and made Legacy Edition on their own dime, and plan to revive the game as less direct a copy of Melee.
Plus all cosmetics and such are unlocked already, so technically you got at least what you paid for... I guess... oh, right. Buying the "unlock all characters and future characters" wouldn't work out so well (only got 1 more character).
On a less serious note, you still technically got "all the future characters"...
But seriously, I'm not defending this microtransaction stuff, I don't like it either. I'm just explaining how you still got what you paid for.
But I mean, come on, they gave us the game for $5. Do you know how many lootboxes you'd have to get in order to get a everything in the game? This is over a $250 value.
Good business practice.
