Fix for sniper and train mission for windows 8 & 10 users
Hello, i've found a way to fix the stupid graphics bugs on these levels, what you need to do is make the game run in a window and this will be fixed.

Someone made a modified .exe file for windowed mode, just download this, put in your commandos 3 directory

Put the commandos3.exe file in (and rename your old commandos3.exe to commandos3bak.exe or something similar):
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Commandos 3 Destination Berlin)
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Commandos 3 Destination Berlin\Legacy) for legacy version

Make sure you use the same compatibility options as in the screenshot on that forum.

This is not needed for Windows 7, Vista, XP or older users as this bug doesn't exist on older versions of Windows

Hey guys,
I made a windowed version of Commandos 3 GOG executable. I tested it on Windows 10 x64.
I liked it to be clean just like Commandos 2, with movable/minimizable window and without using any third-party apps.

Make sure the executable is named "Commandos3.exe" and set the Compatibility settings like in the picture:
c3.windowed.jpg

Parameters
You can set the parameters in "DATA\VAR.DAT" file:
INT SCREEN_WIDTH 1024 # In-game Screen Width
INT SCREEN_HEIGHT 768 # In-game Screen Height
Changes in R3:
Can change resolution by modifying VAR.DAT.
NOTE: The executable file size is increased by almost 200KB to allow adding new code and data.

Changes in R2:
The window is no longer top-most.
Attached Files
Attached File Commandos3.Windowed.R3.7z 2.06MB

Hi,
Thanks for the link!
Sadly, there is no VAR.DAT file in my DATA folder. So the game launches, but quickloading to the train mission makes the game crash, and I can't access my saved games either.
Apparently, the first "Central Europe" mission launches fine, though.

You need to create your own

i found different solution,

in short, try copy and rename your exe, than open game from it (if it doesnt work continue to read)

i have 3 cd version and gog version, gog version works normal, (but cant use with 1280x720 res)
i want 1280x720 resolution and i also want to use "playing commandos 2 on 3" files so i use cd version with no cd exes and i edit exe for 1280x720 resolution and i also use dgvodoo wrapper with dx12 setting. when i add different named exe and open game from that (1280x720 commandos3.exe) exe game works normally, if i copy same exe and rename to commandos3.exe it is broken again. if you have this issue try copy and rename your exe and open game from that exe, im playing fullscreen

im using
windows 10 20h2
amd rx 5600 xt
ryzen 3600

files from 3 cd installation
+ widescreen files
+ dgvodoo files
+ Playing_C2_On_C3 files

im sharing a link for my 1280x720 exe and widescreen files, you can try open game from my exe named "commandos3 1280-720.exe"
