Theme Park & Rollercoaster Tycoon

Since EA's Theme Park was one the earliest Amusement Park Tycoon Games, what's the Difference between the Theme Park Game Series and the RollerCoaster Tycoon Game Series?

Both Games let you build an amusement park in anyway you see fit but does Theme Park have any differences to RollerCoaster Tycoon or are they both the same?

Rollercoaster Tycoon is by far the most sandbox.
RCT games you're building most rides yourself that can go through other rides, underground etc and lets you just build them however you want

RCT has goals to complete such as reach a population of park visitors by a certain amount of years to unlock the next park
