Trouble placing food stalls

Every time I try to place a restroom or a food stall, it's like it's placing it in the air above the path. If I rotate my camera, it's not where I thought I put it. Everything else is working fine. Is anyone else having this problem? What am I doing wrong?

you need to delete the path then place it. also hold shift to change the verticality
