Game doesn't play without internet connection

Playing on Macbook Pro, and I cannot play RCT Classic in offline mode. The game will attempt to start up, and the loading screen will freeze as a blank, white window. Is there any way to fix this? RCT shouldn't require an internet connection, even if the save files are online
