I don't get it.
What is this?
Is it a Mobile version for the pc? Is there something new/different?
I already own the Rollercoaster Tycoon Deluxe pack with the Loopy Landscapes and Time Twister DLC, should i buy it? Whats the difference?

I'm curious as well, the screenshots and the video seem to show a few things new or different from the original game.

Anyone else notice it reccommends 16gb ram?
i did some "research" (lol) on this. Looks like Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic is RCT1+2 (+dlc's) is something like a Port for Smartphones/Pads.
16GB ram is probably a mistake, they meant probably harddrivespace.
Okay yes. from rollercoastertycoon.com and googleplay:
"RCT Classic includes a mixture of authentic playability, depth of gameplay and unique graphical style of Chris Sawyer’s original best-selling RollerCoaster Tycoon® PC Games, now enhanced for handheld devices".

So its a port from a port?
PC->handheld->PC? Even if we already have the deluxe version? realy?
@Devs you should clearly state in the shoppage whats the difference between the deluxe and classic version for us pc players.

Yes, this is a PC port from the mobile version of the game, which is a port of the PC version of the game. That doesn't really make any sense, but hey, that's Atari for you.

I'd rather buy the original games, if I didn't already had them on CD.

So uh...
This has ALL the content between RCT1 and 2 right? Does that include the scenario editor? And are there still restrictions on how many different types of scenery, rides, etc you can make in a scenario? Cause thats what always bugged me, that you could only choose SOME of the items in the game.

Does this have any difference from the ones already available on Steam? I have RCT 1+2 and all its DLC and should I get this? I mean if this version comes with better compatibility with current OS like native 1920*1080 then to me it'll be worth it because that's the only thing I don't like about the originals

Can anyone confirm if the original RCT 1 & 2 or the steam version actually run on PC these days? RCT Classic for ipad is lovely but I'd love to have that same experience on PC. My old RCT CD's do not want to run anymore. I purchased RCT Gold edition off GOG but it has an issue running on widescreen, forcing me to manually change my aspect ratio every time I want to play it.

Here's a link to an article on this. It has a bunch of new scenarios and a few other things: http://www.pcgamer.com/rollercoaster-tycoon-classic-rides-onto-steam-tomorrow/

That's a big fat no, especially when you already own both games. You can play all of their content via OpenRCT2, which provides better compatibility, new quality-of-life features + multiplayer (weird as that may sound), and some bug fixes to the originals. It also runs in widescreen resolution such as 1080P, and in window mode you can tailor it even more to your liking with an enlarge/zoom-in kind of option to scale all graphics.

That is correct. It's called a cash grab, and it's not a very neat thing to do as a publisher.

If you like the originals, but not the limited compatibility with modern OS I would suggest OpenRCT2: https://openrct2.org/

OpenRCT2 is still beta software though, how good is it atm?

Yes RCT2 definitely works on my Windows 10 computer, just downloaded it from my GOG account (forgot I bought it over there) and it starts and runs fine for me. Although it's better using OpenRCT as that plays the game in my monitors native resolution.
