Now you're on the right track! Helping folks give the game another chance along with consolidating the reasons why the game may put them off so the developer can address state of product is far better. Good work here! This should be a pinned thread.
Added request for increase in Ride/Stall limit: Currently at 255 objects.
Added various requests for the Scenario Editor: Add build rides, increase object availability beyond 128, etc.
Added AI Pathing complaint to gameplay and request features: Currently there are AI pathing issues, causing player to have to hire more employees than necessary, or monitor employees unecessarily.
Added some screenshots to things
Added Game Slowdown When Entering Name in Scenario Win: When inputting name for the scenario win condition the game slows down significantly and becomes choppy. Could cause potential crashes.
Added Further Details About Exactly What Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic Is: Detailed how this game is technically Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 with RCT: Deluxe flavored content.
Added a Section About OpenRCT2: Included a very brief description and link to the official page, as well as a message to RCTC Developer Origin8.
Added Issue Where Game Changes Color Scheme to Basic: Reported by various users but appears to have a solution.
Added Ride Editor vs. In Game: Currently when using the ride editor to create rides, when placing those rides into gameplay the stats end up different.
Added Ride Graphs Broken: The graphs that record ride data do not record much beyond 2 minutes, making it difficult to build longer roller coasters without hitting "Ultra Extreme".
This remake is far from finished and not a single update since release?
Shamefull really..
I have no other major qualms with this port and I'm having a fun time, but it is definitely frustrating how many simple fixes aren't being made and how dead silent the Twitter accounts are. Feel like we're straight-up being ignored.
I am having this same issue. Let me if you find a solution or a work around.
So, apparently, if you right click the RCT Classic icon and select Show Package Contents, you can drop your .td6 files into Contents > Resources. The game will read the .td6 file, but now you'll get a message on bootup every time recommending you reinstall the game. You don't actually have to do that.
tl;dr you can put the files in yourself, the game goes "whoa that's weird" but lets you do it anyway, the built-in import function doesn't work full stop
I think this is done on purpose so you don't get more time to continue buildinig in the game while the timer is stopped.
Hmm that would be against the classic way of RCT1. There i could pause the game and change a bunch of land, add paths etc and take off pause so visitors can start walking that whole new piece. It should hold the pause i think.
The same could be said about half of the Scenarions now requiring Free addmission to the park then. It's not in 1 doesn't mean it's not in here. Rides are even harder to break than 1 or 2. They changed things, it's not a direct port.
yep i dont like that either, i want to have free rides in my park so visitors can stay so long they desire after paying the entrance fee only.
This game is not for you then, it sounds like you don't like change in a game, I would recomend buying RCT1.
Ehm the title of this game is "RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic" how can i not expect this isnt RCT1?
Research a game before you buy it, this is Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 with Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 Scenarios imported into the game, the track editor is literally a stirpped down version of how it is built from Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 even.. I would recomend buying Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe to fix the problem you seem to be having.
Looking at your game list you don't own RCT 1 or 2, Not sure if trolling or not anymore.
