controller issue
the game doesn't see my controller. It works fine with other games, but even though the game displays controller buttons in menu (like press B to go back) it just doesn't register button presses. Did someone else have that issue? I'm using standard xbox one controller.

Same issue, Im thinking it has to do with the Controller type as Im also using an Xbox one Controller.

Edit: I restarted the game with the controller plugged in, once I hit the title screen I pressed the Xbox Home button and It immediately registered. Hope this helps.

@Kaikor I'm having the same issue. Wireless Xbox One controller works fine in everything else I load up, though. Tried restarting a few times with no luck. Very disappointed.

Sometimes you have to start the game with your controller already turned on and maybe even try using Big Picture. I don't like Big Picture either, but I had to use it once to get my USB 3rd party PS3 controller to work with Sonic Mania for some god forsaken reason.
I don't have this game yet so idk though, but I thought this might help.

I'm also having issues getting a Xbox One Wireless gamepad to be recognized.
I tried opening the Xbiox home button but that doesn't work for me.

Hi guys. I managed to fix it. Right click on the game in your library, choose properties and in general tab set steam input per-game to forced on.

I tried to use my PS4 controller to play it too and even in big picture mode it wont work. My controller works to navigate big picture mode and other games, but not Gris. I would try the forced on suggestion above but I already beat the game with a keyboard, so meh.

This fixed my problem. I just hope it doesn't introduce issues to other games.

It shouldn't. You're only making changes to properties of this one title. This is not a global setting.

Set steam input per game : forced on did not solve issue for me. Controller working with all other games.

I had this problem on my first start. I had both my XBox One controller and my arcade stick plugged in. None of them did anything in the game. Unplugged the stick, then it worked flawlessly.
